The Nestlé Pizza brands strive to carry on the “Good Food, Good Life” mission as well through our DIGIORNO®, TOMBSTONE®, and JACK’S® pizza brands, as well as with our licensed brand, CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN®. Our Commitment to Quality

All DIGIORNO pizzas are proudly made in the Midwest. We have two pizza bakeries in Wisconsin that have been cooking up delicious DIGIORNO pizzas since we launched in 1995. But their pizza-making history goes even farther back, as both bakeries have been in the pizza business for over 50 years and they’re cornerstones of their respective local communities. Proud of what we do? You bet we are!

Our great-tasting pizzas are created with care by a team of “seasoned” pizza professionals. Here’s the scoop on what’s cooking in our pizza kitchens on a daily basis:
  • Our Crust: We make our dough fresh daily from flour ingredients sourced in the US. The dough is aged 30-90 minutes (proofing/fermentation step) to allow the dough to rise and develop each DIGIORNO crust’s characteristic flavor and texture.
  • Our Sauce: Our flavorful sauce is made with 100% California-grown tomatoes and is freshly blended every day with spices and seasoning, creating our signature DIGIORNO sauce.
  • Our Cheese: The mozzarella cheese used on our pizzas is shredded fresh daily in the bakery and 100% is sourced in the Midwest. In fact, the majority of our cheese is sourced in Wisconsin, very close to our two Wisconsin bakeries.
  • Our Toppings: Our veggie toppings are picked at the peak of ripeness and flash frozen to lock in flavor, aroma and nutrients. Our seasoned meat toppings are all USDA-inspected and approved and never contain MSG.

And when it comes to DIGIORNO, we know that our oven-ready pizza is a delicious food that’s easy to prepare and fun to share. In fact, it often brings people together whether for a shared meal or feeding the gang during a fun gathering. And our pizza varieties really deliver on great taste, solid nutrition and helpful convenience so that you can always choose the DIGIORNO variety that’s right for you and your pizza-eating occasion.

We have been actively working to improve the nutrition profile of our pizzas while ensuring our pizzas always taste great.

Some of our work includes:

  • Reducing or eliminating artificial trans fats from our product varieties
  • Reducing sodium
  • Reducing or eliminating artificial flavors and preservatives
  • Reducing calories from saturated fat

Our new pizzeria!™ from DIGIORNO® is a great example of our work so far on this front. This delectable pizza is created with care using fresh ingredients and features a preservative-free crust, no artificial flavors and zero grams of trans fat per serving.

We also believe pizza can be enjoyed as part of a well-balanced diet. Our recommendation for the perfect portion: Enjoy a slice of pizza (300-400 calories) with a salad, roasted veggies, fresh fruit and a glass of water.

At Nestlé Pizza, we are committed to maintaining and continually improving good environmental quality and soundness in all areas of operation. This is achieved and maintained through the following actions:

  • Pollution prevention and control
  • A strong program of energy management and resource conservation
  • Ongoing programs of source reduction, recycling and solid waste management
  • Continual examination of product, process, packaging, operations, and innovations/evolving technologies for environmental improvement opportunities

We are proud of our achievements to date at our two bakeries:

  • Little Chute Achievements
    • 2012 GE Return on Environment Award - Reduced water usage by 7.4 million gallons compared to prior year by increasing the performance and efficiency of cooling towers
    • 97% of materials used are recycled
  • Medford Achievements
    • Zero landfill since 2008
    • 96.4% of materials used are recycled; The non-recycled material is incinerated at a waste-to-energy facility that produces steam and electricity and provides energy for other area businesses
